There are lots of lovely walks from the doorstep to suit all abilities, Aysgarth Falls is just a 15 minute stroll through the fields this is where a scene out of Robin Hood Prince of Thieves  was filmed  in 1991

The small market towns of Leyburn & Hawes are are short 10-15 minute drive away, in Hawes you will find the Wensleydale Creamery home to the lovely creamy Wensleydale cheese, at Leyburn you could climb aboard a train, run by the Wensleydale railway, there are lots of independent shops in both towns, Hawes has a market day on a Tuesday and Leyburn Friday. We have local attractions of Bolton Castle, Middleham Castle, Richmond castle, The Forbidden Corner and lots of small villages that have featured in the television and films of All Creatures great and small including the village of Askrigg where Skeldale House and the Drovers is situated it also has a lovely tea room The Bakewell where you can buy home cooked take away meals and lots of sweet treats to choose from.
